Advice on submitting to an agency

Ive been talking with a fairly accomplished actor in my area, and he's recommended me a few agencies. Before I made any steps towards any of this, I wanted to look to the team for some advice. Anyone have some sage words on submissions?

    Dallas, Texas actors?

Thought I would make a post drawing in all the actors in Dallas - we can obviously keep a facade on here to make things not look ‘obvious’ or leading just in case you want anonymity (like me). I am signed here, mostly go out for print.

is this self-tape quality okay? part 2

I took some of the comments made by the previous users. Right now, I am about to buy me a lighting kit. I don't think I can get any better footage. Do you guys think this is okay? This is all such a mess. Before I had my other camera, it worked wonders, but...

    ACTORS WANTED

I’m honestly curious how successful actors got their start? Is it more common for it to be a “since birth/ mom and dad are rich af” thing. Did they have connections or just randomly go to auditions (I’m interested but wouldn’t even know where to begin)...

Agent said he'll rep me, now isn't responding?

So I'm basically making this post to figure out what to do in this situation. Not sure if it's a stupid question but I couldn't find anything like it in previous posts on the sub. To make a long story short, I got an audition through the Daniel Hoff Agency...

What are your favorite pre-show warm-ups?

I am currently acting in a show at an Equity theatre and have thoroughly enjoyed observing my fellow actors during their warmups. I have even picked up some of their warmups and added them to my repertoire. This got me wondering, what are some of your...

    Nasally Voice.

I am very annoyed at my nasally voice. My words tend to blend together. It's hard to understand me at lower volumes. When I am speaking loudly I am much more understandable. When I speak fast I have to over annunciate and it looks strange. When I really try I...

Can I act without memorizing lines?

Memorizing is my bane, I don't remember having memorized anything voluntarily since more than a decade ago, when school started becoming more about memorizing things and less about reasoning during highschool I dropped out because I couldn't do it, it feels...

    Toronto recommendations

Hi all! I've been active in this sub for a little while now. The recommendations such as casting sites (actor's access mainly) has been amazing and led to a surprising amount of auditions for having just a headshot! I've taken a small group class as well as...

    Let's Collaborate (LA)

The biggest thing I have heard here in LA thus far is "make your own stuff." Great. Then let's do it. I am a highly trained actor with an eye for directing and a talent for writing. I want to collaborate with other talented and like-minded people in LA to...
